The GL Assessment format

The most widely used 11+ format — standardised, multiple-choice papers across English, maths and reasoning. We prepare children specifically for it, in classes of no more than four with real grammar-school papers.

The GL Assessment is the most widely used 11+ format, set by many grammar schools and consortia. Its standardised, multiple-choice papers across English, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning reward accuracy, speed and familiarity with the question style.

Our programme prepares children specifically for the GL format, in classes of no more than four, using real grammar-school practice papers. (Some areas previously used the CEM format, now largely withdrawn — we'll confirm which format your target schools use.)
